What is called “D.G. (Dangerous Goods) warehouse”?
It is called “D.G. warehouse” which means “Chemical Special Warehouse”. It means enterprises storage chemical or D.G. According to related and technical policy, for example: “Public Hazardous Materials and Flammable Pressurized Gases Establishment Standards and Safety Control Regulations “or “Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances Control regulation”. Complying with all equipment of chemical storage special warehouse. Including warehouse of safety distance, fire-fighting equipment, lighting, ventilation equipment, leaking detection equipment, lightning protection equipment and safety labels, etc..

In Taiwan, we have some situations of D.G storage as follow：
- Few of enterprises store D.G in the professional warehouse
- Most businesses store D.G in the general、old warehouses or illegal buildings, which causing social safety and potential risk of fire safety.
- Most petrochemical industries and chemical manufacturers are over-stored in the warehouses of factory area. (Because it is not strict to old-method Regulations). Owing to the distance insufficient safety, the inventory volume seriously exceeded the allowable volume.
Site Selection
> According to its dangerous characteristics, the site should be selected the overall municipal layout of the government planning to construct. Generally, the D.G warehouse should be selected a relatively empty industrial zone or area where far away from residential areas, water sites, farmland, rivers, lakes and mainly traffic, etc. The layout should be built in the downwind of the local perennial main wind. There must be strictly standards for the distance where the warehouse between residential areas and public facilities. Besides, the distance should be controlled between neighboring enterprises, roads, and among other public buildings.
> Flammable goods shall be placed in low-lying areas, and barrels of flammable liquids shall be stored in the warehouse. According to the types and characteristics of D.G. and obtain corresponding fire permit, which adopt proper building structure. At the same time, corresponding safety facilities and equipment should be set up such as monitoring, ventilation, prevented insolation, temperature adjusted, fire protection, explosion protection, pressure relief, gas defensed, neutralization, moisture proof, lightning protection, anti-static, antiseptic, anti-leakage and isolation.
